ISWC 2006 - More recap
Alot has happened over the past two days here at ISWC2006. Here’s a short recap of some of the highlights.
Taowei gave his talk yesterday, and it went off very well; by far it was the best in the session…good job Taowei! The audience received it well and asked some interesting questions; it was nice to see the audience ask him to continue the work.
Also yesterday, was the poster session. Overall we had 6 posters (yeah quite alot
) - Taowei (2), Vlad (1), David (1), yours truely (2). The poster session was fun, however I must complain about the room they had Vlad and I in…it was hidden in a back corner, so unfortunately we didn’t get as much traffic as I’d hoped. That said, the visitors we did have seemed very interested. It was nice to get feedback on my DL-based syndication, all of which was positive.
One other comment I wanted to make was that there seems to be alot of hiring or interest in hiring going on. During the poster session I got a few minutes to walk around, and it seems that many folks (both small and large) are in need of people in the area…good sign for the community as a whole!
Tonight for dinner I’m meeting with the W3C Multimedia incubator group for an informal f2f…so that should be fun. Afterwards, we are planning to meet up with m.c. and some of the mSpace team…so tonight should be interesting. I’ll post later with some details.
